Scottish pavilion at Venice Biennale

Here is the structure actually built and sitting right outside the main train station in Venice. These pictures bring me right back to when my friend and i were inter-railing around Europe a few years ago- we became accustomed to riding on the trains and quickly adapting to each new city but our arrival in Venice was quite different. We just sat down on the steps outside the train station and wondered how on earth we navigate ourselves around this wonderfully unique city........ such a memorable place. I wish i was sitting on those steps right now.

The design of this pavilion is really so appropriate because all of the bridges around Venice are stepped- there are steps that people lounge on everywhere..... i think its pretty clever. It was designed by Gareth Hoskins Architects.
